Gurjun essential oil is an antimicrobial, decongesting oil with historical ties to traditional medicine.
Often used to treat cold and flu symptoms, many have claimed that gurjun oil helps to clear blocked airways due to its refreshing scent. It also has antibacterial and antifungal properties that make it a great cleaning agent.
Gurjun oil has been found to act as an anti-inflammatory on the skin, helping to reduce the appearance of many skin conditions.
Traditionally used to increase the flow of blood around the body, it is still believed by many to promote red blood cell production.

Gurjun oil is extracted via steam distillation from the wood of the gurjun tree, which is native to Indonesia but is now cultivated widely in India, China, Thailand and the Philippines.

Botanical Name: Dipterocarpus Turbinatus
- Aromatherapy: Combine 5-7 drops of the oil with water and add to an oil burner. Alternatively, place 5-7 drops in a diffuser.
- Massage: Dilute 5 drops to 10ml of carrier oil and massage into skin.
- Bath: Add 6-8 drops to warm bathwater.
- Skincare: Add a couple of drops to a carrier oil or your chosen lotion.
- Soap: Suitable for soapmaking. We recommend following a tested recipe.
- Candles: Suitable for candles. We recommend following a tested recipe.
- Potpourri: Add a few drops to potpourri creations to enhance scent.
