Chamomile Blue, also known as German Blue Chamomile essential oil, is a mid-to-base note in the fragrance world.
It is distinguished by its rich, deep blue hue, which is due to the presence of chamazulene, a compound formed during the distillation process.
This blue chamomile essential oil exudes a sweet, herbal aroma with earthy undertones, making it a calming and grounding addition to essential oil blends.
Its soothing properties are highly valued in aromatherapy and natural skincare, where it is used for its anti-inflammatory and calming effects. Additionally, it is often incorporated into massage oils and bath products to enhance relaxation and promote a sense of well-being.
Its gentle nature also makes it suitable for use in products designed for sensitive skin.
- Aromatherapy: Combine 5-7 drops of the blue chamomile essential oil with water and add to an oil burner. Alternatively, place 5-7 drops in a diffuser.
- Massage: Take 10ml of carrier oil and dilute 5 drops of blue chamomile essential oil. After, rub it into your skin.
- Bath: Add 6-8 drops of blue chamomile essential oil to warm bathwater.
- Skincare: Use it in your skincare and squeeze a couple of drops to a lotion or carrier oil.
- Soap: Follow a tested recipe and use it for soapmaking.
- Candles: Use some blue chamomile essential oils in your candle recipes. Just make sure it’s a tested recipe.
- Potpourri: Add a few drops of blue chamomile essential oil to your potpourri creations. This will give them a nice smell.
